In more Columbia signing X Factor contestants news, the label has also signed Little Mix for their US debut. Directioners already know about the group (Zayn‘s girlfriend, Perrie, is a member!), but here’s a little background for everyone else:
- Like 1D, the girls originally auditioning as solo performers – Perrie, Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Jade became Little Mix during the 2011 series of The X Factor UK, and became the first group to ever win the show.
- Curious what they sound like? Well, they have four distinctive voices and their music mixes old school pop R’n’B with modern beats.
- Their single “Cannonball” shot straight to No.1 in the UK & Ireland.
- Their debut album, DNA, was released last week entered Top 3 in the UK & Ireland this week (only behind Rihanna and One Direction)!
