In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, Cartoon Network is premiering their new feature-length live-action movie drama, Contest. Tommy, played by cutie Daniel Flaherty, finds friendship from an unlikely classmate who is played by our long-time fave, Kenton Duty.
BOP & Tiger Beat talked exclusively with Kenton, who plays the bully in the film. He wanted to be a part of the film to help stop bullying. You are not going to believe this…he was a victim of bullying, who would have known?
“I have been the recipient of a bully many times. When I was younger, I was short for my age. I also have food allergies, so that makes me ‘different’ and a target for bullies! I still get bullied about my food allergies,” Kenton spilled.
Kenton gives his own advice and insists that, “Kids must speak up! If you are being bullied, you must inform others. Don’t try to mask it, hide it, or be embarrassed to say something.â€
We can’t wait for you to watch the movie. It premieres tomorrow night at 6 p.m. ET/PT! Have you ever been bullied? What is your advice? Let us know what you think of the film in the Comments below and on Twitter!
