Love the look of nail art, but not sure how to recreate your favorites at home? Lucky for us, the nail mavens at celebrity cult-favorite nail salon, Olive & June, have created an exclusive tutorial to guide us through the process of replicating our favorite Halloween nail art!
By: Allison Chesky
Candy Apple Mani
1. Apply a base coat and two coats of a bold red nail color.
2. With a makeup sponge, paint both black and red overlapping a little at the center of the nailbed.
3. Start sponging on the nail bed in a rolling motion, dabbing where it needs blending to hide the harsh center line.
4. Topcoat slowly to blend colors together even more and you’re all set!
Pro-tip: Make sure to coat once, move on and come back to desired effect so sponge won’t leave debris.
Half-moon Cat Eyes
For a playful twist on the halfmoon mani, try this version with chic cat eyes!
1. Apply a base coat and two coats of color.
2. Starting almost halfway up the nailbed, create an outline of the cat’s head.
3. Fill in the outline of the cat’s head.
4. Paint symmetrical triangle shapes for ears. Pro-tip: Either fill them in or leave space for the inside of the kitty ears.
5.Paint almond shape eyes and fill in, brushing in a vertical line for the center of the eye. Add a clear top coat and you’re all set!
