Zendaya took to Instagram today to shame a magazine that had retouched her slim hips and waist to nearly prepubescent forms. The nineteen-year-old said in her post, which featured the original image and the altered image side-by-side, that:
“These are the things that make women self-conscious, that create the unrealistic ideals of beauty that we have. Anyone who knows who I am, knows I stand for honest and pure self-love. So, I took it upon myself to release the real pic and I love it!â€
We commend Zendaya for not being afraid to stay true to herself and her values, and promote a positive image for her fans.
