Whispers swirled after Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were spotted together over the weekend, resulting in a not-so-quiet reaction from Joe Jonas, who unfollowed both stars on Instagram and deleted a photo of Jonas and Malik together, captioned “#SQUAD.” Yikes.
Parting ways with acquaintances is tough, no matter if it’s a close friend or a crush.
Luckily, our friends at Facebook are aiming to make that painful and awkward “break-up” a little less agonizing. With their latest tool, you can avoid the aggressive response of de-friending an ex, and simply make their posts and presence seemingly disappear from your feed.
With the click of a relationship status change, both parties can opt out of seeing the updates and notifications of their former flame. And, like the discretion of a trusted best friend, Facebook won’t let the other party know you’ve put them out of sight and out of mind.
The tool was rolled out a little over a week ago and we TOTALLY think it’s a step in the right direction towards peace of mind and less dramz on social media!
