Gigi Hadid is one of the most popular models of our time, all thanks to Instagram.
The blonde beauty recently scored her first American Vogue cover, and revealed how all of those likes and comments made her Insta-famous. We’re taking notes!
“It’s a way that people get to know us other than a face on a page. We are given the opportunity to spread our wings in so many different industries because people get to know us; they start to understand different levels of our personalities and our talents.â€
Gigi’s comments come a few months after Rebecca Romijn voiced her opinion about models like Gigi and Kendall Jenner, saying they weren’t “true supermodels.” She later retracted her statement. *fades to black*
But Gigi knows how to brush off the haters:
“Obviously, Cindy [Crawford] and Claudia [Schiffer] and Naomi [Campbell] — no one can do it better than them in the time that they were in. I think that the reason why Kendall and Cara [Delevingne] and Karlie [Kloss] and I are kind of … able to have this moment right now is because the industry needed a change to be able to welcome in another generation.â€
Like any social media phenom, Gigi’s had to deal with her fair share of critics who won’t stop making comments about her body, calling her “fat” and “anorexic.” Luckily, she’s got Zayn by her side to help her weather the storm — so sweet!
Need more Gigi in your life? Of course you do!
