We’re so excited for the “Liv and Maddie: Cali Style” premiere on Friday, that we just had to talk with Joey Bragg to learn more about the fourth and final season taking place in California.
TigerBeat: Tell us about your character Joey’s new persona, Falcon.
Joey Bragg: My character goes to a new school and he realizes, when you have the opportunity to go to a new school, you have no prior history that’s defining your reputation. You get to make your own reputation. So he decided that his reputation was gonna be a kick-butt, cool, leather jacket-wearing, 50s-esque, Clint Eastwood impression person named Falcon. Falcon is his own entity.
TigerBeat: How has that been compared to playing Joey on previous seasons?
Joey Bragg: It is such a change from what Joey was, but he’s still Joey underneath. It was like I got to wear a mask as the character I’ve been playing for so long and I had a blast. Everyone on set will tell you. I didn’t break character.
TigerBeat: You are Falcon.
Joey Bragg: I am Falcon. Falcon is me. I even took my Falcon wardrobe home after show wrapped. I wear it on occasion just to make myself feel better about myself.
TigerBeat: What can we expect this season now that the cast is Cali-livin’?
Joey Bragg: Oh, Cali-livin’, I like your lingo. I kind of expected, when we first started, that we would eventually go back to Steven’s Point, but we do not go back to Steven’s Point. This season has a new, cool environment.
TigerBeat: What is your favorite part of the new set, now that it’s centraled around living in California?
Joey Bragg: The new “Sing It Louder” set is really cool. It’s one of our biggest sets and it’s the lobby to our private school – the fake private school in the show. It brought a much different feel to the set, because it’s very gothic and dark, and has cool suits of armor.
“Liv and Maddie: Cali Style” premieres this Friday, September 23rd at 8PM on the Disney Channel.
Can’t wait until Friday for more “Liv and Maddie”? You don’t have to! Here’s a sneak peek of season four!
