We caught up with the charming singers and they revealed how this EP is different from ‘Only the Beginning,’ which song on the EP is their fave and more!
TigerBeat: How did you decide on the title ‘Something Different?’
Daniel Seavey: I think the title of our EP ‘Something Different’ really reflected what we wanted to do with this next chapter of music. We are all so passionate about our sound, and I think the more we got into writing this EP, the more unique and relatable it got. It ended up turning into a new and different sound that really brings out the vibe the five of us have together.
TigerBeat: Tell me about “Never Know.” What is it really about?
Corbyn Besson: With “Never Know”, we wanted to do something a little different from what we’d ever done before. The song isn’t really about love, but more about living your life the way you want to. It’s about not being afraid to take risks and putting yourself out there!
TigerBeat: Which song on the EP was your favorite to record and why?
Jack Avery: My personal favorite would definitely have to be “Tell Me,” because it’s a very fun, unique song. It’s kind of about trying to get a girl, getting to know her and winning her over! My favorite part has to be the cajon drum we threw in the song because it just adds that extra unique, style that makes the song awesome!
TigerBeat: How is this EP different from “Only the Beginning?”
Daniel Seavey: We all feel that this new EP shows a lot of growth for us as a band and shows a newer, cooler, ‘different’ side of us (pun totally intended). From using a cajon drum live to throwing in some EDM vibes, this EP is a whole new experience.
TigerBeat: What message do you hope fans take away from this EP?
Jonah Marais: I hope the fans take away the message that you don’t have to worry about what people think about you, or what they say about you! Just be yourself, and it’s okay if that’s ‘Something Different.’
