Willie Jones is on FIRE!
TigerBeat: How many days a week are you in the studio?
Willie Jones: Every day we’ve been in the studio writing and creating. I’m really excited! It’s been awhile — I put a single out a year and a half ago. Since then, I’ve been working on my sound and connecting with the right people so it can be the right quality.
TigerBeat: How would you describe your sound?
Willie Jones: I’m inspired by every genre of music — I grew up listening to Gospel, R&B and pop. I discovered country when I was 14, and that really inspired me a lot. My sound is 100% me, I’m not trying to be anyone else. It’s unlike anything I’ve heard, and I think people will really vibe it.
TigerBeat: When do you plan on releasing new music?
Willie Jones: Sometime this summer for sure. I plan on dropping some previews on Soundcloud and videos on YouTube, things we wouldn’t want to put out for singles. They’re still hot, though!
TigerBeat: If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be?
Willie Jones: I want to work with Shawn Mendes and Timbaland at some point. I’d love to work with K.C. Musgraves, a country singer. I told myself I want to get Designer on a song.
TigerBeat: Cameron Dallas is supposedly writing music. What can you tell us about that?
Willie Jones: We’ve been working together. He’s in the studio working on his album, and I’ve been writing stuff with him. We’re in the studio late at night, and our bond has just grown. It’s dope!
TigerBeat: You’re pretty tight with Cam. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done together?
Willie Jones: The tour was wild! We were on the bus for 16 hours at a time, pulling pranks and getting on each other’s nerves. Seeing the world with people I met a year ago was really dope.
TigerBeat: How do you unwind when you’re not on tour?
Willie Jones: When I’m down in Louisiana, I love chilling with my family. Me and my little sister are really close — I take her to school sometimes. I love hanging out with friends, writing music and drawing.
TigerBeat: Do you have any advice for your fans?
Willie Jones: You cannot care what other people think about you. If you want to express yourself in any way, do it. Be comfortable in your skin, and don’t be afraid to be yourself.
