Disney XD’s series “Mech-X4” is back for an “exciting, stunning, rollercoaster” of a season two, in the words of star Nathaniel Potvin!

We chatted with the actor about what to expect in the new season and why you’ll love his role in the upcoming Netflix series “Alexa & Katie.”

Four days until #MECHX4 returns with 5 new episodes!

TigerBeat: How has your character Ryan evolved since the first season?
Nathaniel: I think that he is a lot smarter, more confident, and even more determined to rid his city of evil. He finds crazy new creative and innovative ways to use his power to combat new challenges his team face to battle the evil in Bay City.

On a personal level, Ryan also learns new hidden facts about himself, his background, and where he comes from, which causes emotionally charged changes in his outlook and behavior.

TigerBeat: What was your favorite scene to shoot from the new season?
Nathaniel: One of my favorite scenes from season two is when we introduce Alyssa Jirrels’ character Veracity as an official addition to the MECH-X4 team. It was just such a nice moment because leading up to that moment Ryan and the boys start realizing that they need her. So, when we finally shot that scene it felt right and very much needed because Veracity and her skills add so much to the story and to the robot.

TigerBeat: How have you and your co-stars grown as a cast since the first season?
Nathaniel: When you work with people almost every day, all day, for five months straight on this kind of show, you become a family. We shoot outside of Vancouver in a small town so we all rely on each other for friendship and entertainment.

We have gotten to the point where we know what the others are thinking and we can totally read each other’s facial expressions — which is a lot of fun.

TigerBeat: How has your life changed since joining the series?
Nathaniel: My life has changed in the best ways possible because it has opened up so many opportunities and doors for me as an actor and a person. It has definitely shown me what I want to do for the rest my life.

TigerBeat: What can you tell us about your new role on a Netflix original series?
Nathaniel: I recently booked a recurring guest-starring role on a brand new Netflix multi-camera sitcom called “Alexa & Katie.” Netflix is actually producing a sitcom in-house for the very first time! Multi-camera shooting is completely different than “Mech-X4” or film shooting. We rehearse and film a half-hour show in five days.

Stay Woke

TigerBeat: Tell us a bit about your character!
Nathaniel: I love playing all different kinds of characters! My character, Ryan Walker, in Mech X-4 is a charismatic teenage High School kid hero with technopathic skills that control a 150 ft. robot.

In “Alexa and Katie” I play a high school drama kid who’s a bit unsure of himself – the total opposite of Ryan in “Mech X-4”.

TigerBeat: Why do you think people will love your upcoming project?
Nathaniel: I think that fans will get a kick out of seeing me play a completely different kind of character in Netflix’s sitcom “Alexa & Katie!”

I just spammed I'm sorry here is the last one of me in this amazing suit
