“It’s not really about winning on America’s Got Talent, it’s really just about the whole experience and getting to meet life long friends. It doesn’t really matter if you win because no matter what happens, it still changes your life so much.”

You originally auditioned for season 11 but didn’t make it, what do you think changed between then and now?
Angelica: Going to that audition, the first audition I was so nervous. Like, I couldn’t believe how nervous I was. But then I went to the second one, I wasn’t that nervous as before because I’ve already done this, and I’ve met everyone already. Every stage I went through helped with my confidence. When I went to the live shows, I was super nervous. Oh man, I was hyperventilating backstage, and I was nervous, but then, on the live shows, on the finals, I really boosted my confidence.

What did it feel like to get Chris Hardwick’s golden buzzer during the judge’s cuts round?
Angelica:
You don’t go out on that stage striving to get a golden buzzer. You strive to make it to the live shows. I couldn’t believe my eyes, my ears, my body, when that happened. One second my heart was beating out of my chest, and then the next second everything is just blank in my mind, because there was this golden confetti flying around me. My mind was just racing. It was one of the best moments of my life.

Were you nervous to hear what the judges had to say after your performances?
Angelica:
I love all the judge’s comments because they are just amazing, and it’s not bad what they tell you, it’s just what they think. It’s their opinion. Everyone’s afraid of Simon because he’ll say something bad to you, no. He’s just being honest, and honesty is the best policy!

What was the best piece of advice you got while on the show?
Angelica:
In the first audition, when Simon said that I was, and I quote, “I think that you’re going to be a star in future.” Hearing that from him was unbelievable. It was in one big, long, dream that I would wake up from, but nope, I still don’t think I’m awake!

What was your favorite song to perform?
Angelica:
I really love “Symphony” because that one’s the big finale, and everything was just perfect; the setting and everything was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed that one.

Your sister is almost four months old. What’s one piece of life advice you would give her?
Angelica:
Always believe in yourself and don’t let the haters get to you. It doesn’t matter what they say, because you just have to keep pushing forward and believe in yourself. If someone pushes you down you have to stand right back up, because one person says that doesn’t mean that you’re just going to stop. It’d be crazy if someone didn’t win America’s Got Talent and they stopped doing what they loved forever. That would just be ludicrous. You can still do what you love, just because you didn’t do this, doesn’t mean you can’t do that!

Was it difficult to make it all the way to the finale and then come in second place?
Angelica:
The whole reason I was crying onstage was because of all the tension. I just wanted to know who’d won it! I didn’t care if it was me or if it was Darci. After they told me who won, I was actually super happy! I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard Darci won, because we’re really close and she’s super amazing, I’m very happy for her and I just walked over to her and gave her a big hug. She was in tears. It was one of the best days of my life, that moment, because I got second place. That’s still awesome!

What’s your biggest dream?
Angelica:
My biggest dream is to be able to perform my songs international all over the world, to be like all those big superstars. I want to be like them. I just want to have a very successful life, and right now I think I am doing pretty well, which is more than I could ever ask for in my life. It’s the best thing ever, because I’m living the dream right now!

Very excited for my first Christmas Eve performance in Las Vegas!!!❤️

Are you working on writing your own songs?
Angelica:
I’m actually working on it, but I want to come out with it very soon, but I definitely want to write my own songs. Singing is my passion, writing my own songs is also my passion, and putting that together just makes a big bomb of happiness.

Is there an overall message behind your music?
Angelica:
To believe in yourself! I want people to know, with my songs, that they can do anything that they want to do, and I want my songs to be very inspirational. That’s what I want my songs to be, very inspirational. Because I want to inspire people to do things that they never thought they would ever be able to do!
