Meet Daan Creyghton!
He’s the 15-year-old face of Sal Hunter on Nickelodeon’s “Hunter Street,” a lovable nerd whose computer skills come in handy when his family falls into an unraveling mystery. After wrapping season two, Daan gave us the inside scoop on all things behind-the-scenes: from what fans would be surprised to know to whether or not there will be a third season and everything in between!
Keep an eye out for the sophomore season premiere later this month, and keep scrolling to catch a recap of everything you saw during season one and get the 4-1-1 on all things Daan!
The first season ends with a huge cliff-hanger. What kind of fan reaction did you see?
Daan: When that last episode aired, it was crazy on social media. ‘What’s in it? Can you please tell us?’ Everybody was tagging me on posts, on Twitter. And to be honest, we didn’t know when we were shooting it. We only actually found out when we were doing season two!
When you read the script and found out what was in the package, were you right?
Daan: I think we [the cast] kind of knew a little bit that it was going to be a cool gadget or something important, at least. So we had a little bit of a prediction, but I think the fans had that too. But I think we knew a little bit more than they did, but not much!
What’s something fans would be surprised to know about Sal?
Daan: You know, I’m a person who’s average human smart, but not nearly as smart as Sal. I learn a lot from him! He has many sentences, like in the library with Max, he has really tough, tough lines because he’s so smart. They take me a while to learn but if you understand what the line is saying, it makes it so much easier to say it so I have learned many science words and science facts from Sal!
Does he change/grow as a character between the first and second seasons?
Daan: People might be surprised to know that Sal in season two is a little bit more with it, but he is still a nerdy guy. He’s not as shy anymore. He was really shy in season one, and only liked doing things with his family. But in season two, he’s more involved with all kinds of things.
Do you think there will be a season three?
Daan: I certainly hope so! That really depends on the fans. I think they’re going to like the season. This season there’s a lot more mystery. It’s a little bit less comedy, but it looks amazing and you can see how we’ve all grown up a little bit. I saw some of the shots and it looks so great!
“Hunter Street” isn’t the only show that’s airing brand-new episodes this month! Did you tune into the season premiere of “Paradise Run” starring host Daniella Monet?!
