Shawn Mendes‘ single, “In My Blood,” hit the #MendesArmy right in the feels, and for good reason! It’s all about that oh-so-relatable feeling of being stuck in your own head. And in a recent interview, the 19-year-old singer — who’s third studio album drops later this month — opened up about why the song is so special to him.
Shawn shared that no matter how hard it is for him to be vulnerable and honest with his emotions, it’s important to be real with everyone who’s listening:
“I was really nervous the night before releasing it because of how close it is to me, but it’s my job to write how I feel because I’m not the only one feeling that way,” he explained.
