Want the inside scoop on all things “Alex & Me”? We caught up with Jessica for the 411 on everything from her on-screen mean-girl character to her favorite on-set memory and more!
In your own words, what is “Alex & Me” about?
Jessica: “Alex & Me” is a story about a girl named Reagan who loves soccer and the U.S Women’s national soccer star, Alex Morgan. When Reagan hits her head, Alex Morgan appears and trains her.
What can you tell us about your character? How would you describe her in 3 words?
Jessica: Claire Bishop becomes Reagan’s soccer enemy after she fails to make Claire’s soccer team. I would describe her as popular, rude, and spoiled.
What was it like working alongside Alex Morgan? Are you a fan of hers?
Jessica: I had an amazing experience working with Alex Morgan. It was great to work with a professional in a different background who I have been a fan of for a long time. My old soccer team and I loved her, and I would have never guessed I would be in a movie with her.
Is there an overall message behind the movie?
Jessica: Never give up on your dreams and look up to great role models.
Is there one funny on-set memory that stands out?
Jessica: We were filming in the halls of a real school and when the bell rang for passing period the cast and crew had to run and hide in empty classes, so the students weren’t distracted by the movie filming at their school. Most of them didn’t even know we were there at all!
What’s next for you? Do you have any exciting projects coming up?
Jessica: Yes! An HBO mini-series, “Sharp Objects”, is premiering on July 8th and my short film, Broken, premieres on June 29th.
In case you missed it, we’re giving away a bunch of copies of the movie, and today’s the last day to win!
