What was your reaction when you found out you were one of the newest faces of Neutrogena?
Mallory: When I first found out that I was going to be part of Neutrogena and associated with the Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit line, I was really excited. I think their #PinkPower campaign is really cool! I was most excited that it empowered girls to be confident. To inspire other girls is something really amazing to be part of!
Which beauty/skincare products do you carry in your gym bag?
Mallory: I love the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub. I also always wear sunscreen now which I wasn’t as good about when I was younger.
You’re on the road a lot. What are your go-to travel essentials?
Mallory: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub. APPLE wireless headphones – I am always playing music! Usually, I always travel with a book. I always travel with my journal and my Bible, and I always travel with lip balm – I hate chapped lips!
Growing up, did you ever struggle with confidence? How did you overcome that?
Mallory: I have always had high standards for myself both on and off the field, so once I meet those standards I think that I kind of grew into a certain level of confidence. Off the field, it is just about being comfortable with yourself and accepting who you are. Skincare can also have a big impact on confidence. I think that obviously if you have nice skin then you are going to feel better about yourself. Sticking to a skincare routine can bring out that confidence in you!
Did you have a role model who you looked up to?
Mallory: Growing up, definitely my sister. I even started playing soccer when I was four because my sister was playing! She has always been one of my biggest supporters.
What’s one piece of advice you think young girls should hear?
Mallory: Accept who you are and don’t compare yourself to others!
You’re only 20-years-old, but at this point, what has been your proudest career moment?
Mallory: Everything that has led me to this point has been exciting. I now have two years under my belt with the national team. I am excited to get back into playing games with my professional team and then once the season is over then hopefully making the qualifying roster for the US team and hoping the US qualifies for the women’s World Cup next summer in France.
Mallory’s not the only one sharing beauty secrets! Dancer Kerrynton Jones recently got real on all things skincare.
