Don’t be afraid to express yourself!

That’s the message “Good Trouble” star Tommy Martinez is spreading with his character, Gael, in the Freeform breakout series. The actor – who is also known from his role as head Ghoulie, Malachai, in The CW’s “Riverdale” – opened up in a recent interview about the importance of his role as the bisexual LA-based artists competing for the heart of Callie Adams Foster (played by Maia Mitchell).

Tommy also revealed how he aims to make sure that, with Gael, the LGBTQ+ community is always portrayed in a positive way within the series and make sure that through his character, he can assure everyone that they should never be afraid of being themselves!

“I’m portraying a character that isn’t afraid to let the world know that he is bisexual. Why should I be afraid? Why should ANYBODY be afraid of expressing themselves for who they really are?”
