In the middle of Westwood, Los Angeles, celebs gathered under the blazing summer sun at the Regency Theater this weekend to celebrate the world premiere of “The Angry Birds Movie 2.”
The film follows the story of the famed birds as they team up to conquer a new threat and save their homes, and features voiceovers from Dove Cameron, David Dobrik and more. See below for ten fun facts straight from the green carpet!
1. Four giant Starline tour buses with Angry Birds posters on them served as the background for the carpet.
2. Rather than a red carpet, attendees walked across a long strip of faux green grass.
3. Live Angry Birds (in costumes!) walked the carpet and posed for photographers.
4. Although the film is centered around birds and pigs, canine social media celeb MILK Pom Star stole the spotlight at the premiere. His comment on the film: “Bow wow!”
5. “Dance Moms” star GiaNina Paolantonio is obsessed with the Angry Birds character Zeta: “I love her colors and her passion! I also like the way she ends in the movie. The little birds are my fave, though.” Not to mention, the dancer is obsessed with the game and says that her family always plays it together.
6. Her “Dance Moms” costar Pressley Hosbach, on the other hand, relates more to Red: “He’s a true leader, and that’s exactly what I am!”
7. Brady Farrar of “Dance Moms” Season 8 says that he relates most to the Mighty Eagle from the film: “He’s tall and clumsy, just like me!”
8. Hannah Colin, also of “Dance Moms,” is a self-professed Angry Birds superfan. “I always play it on my phone because it’s such a fun game!” she exclaimed. “I’m super excited to see the movie because I saw the first one and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the story.”
9. Brooklynn Price, who voices Zoe in the film, says that she can definitely relate to her character: “We both get angry when our brothers wreck our stuff!” As for how they are different? “I’m not pink and I’m not that small. Zoe’s about the size of my head!” she explained.
10. Gabrielle Nevaeh Green of Nickelodeon’s “All That” plays all the Angry Birds games and has seen the movies “a billion times!” Her favorite character, however, is Chuck, played by Josh Gad. “Josh does such a great job with the speed of the character. I love seeing his work,” she said.
