Alessia Cara is getting deep with her latest single!
The 22-year-old singer – who released coming-of-age bop “Growing Pains” earlier this year – surprised fans by releasing a new single off her upcoming sophomore album along with an accompanying music video. “Trust My Lonely” is a bubbly breakup anthem in which Alessia croons about moving on and doing better, and we can totally relate!
Once again sporting her iconic oversized gray suit, Alessia moves and grooves in front of several colorful backgrounds in the visual to go along with the bop. If this is any indication of what she has in store for the rest of her album, then we can’t wait!
“It’s human instinct to hold onto things that aren’t good for us sometimes because we’re afraid of being without them,” Alessia wrote on Twitter. “They become our comfort. In some cases, it’s a toxic relationship, in others, a bad friendship, or in my case — and the reason I wrote this song — internal black clouds and voices of doubt.”
