Ed Sheeran is tearing up the charts with ‘Divide,’ his first album after a year-long hiatus. The 26-year-old songwriter felt burned out after his quick rise to fame, and had to put down his guitar for a minute.
“I needed to get away,” he spilled. “I kind of eased back into life and reality. Life’s all about balance, and I wasn’t getting the balance right.”
Ed said he found “normality,” watching his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn play field hockey without security behind him. And he became a globetrotter, traveling to Iceland, Norway, and even Japan!
But will Ed take another break? It’s pretty unlikely:
“I love creating music, playing music live and sharing music live,” he continued. “A year off was great, but it felt like a void in my life. I’m glad to be back.”
