“When it comes to style, I strive for unapologetic individuality, no matter the consequence. I always like wearing bold clothing. I’m always experiementing. I call myself a style chameleon! I’m always playing around and seeing where my style can take me.”
What do you hope to accomplish with Carrie’s Chronicles?
Carrie: Relaunching the site, my motto is ‘your style, your superpower.’ It’s about empowering people to embrace their individuality through fashion, beauty, lifestyle, food, fitness…everything except for the kitchen sink!
How have you learned to embrace your own style with such confidence?
Carrie: I was bullied severly when I was in middle school for my style. Pepople would tell me that my glitter sneakers were too loud, and awful stuff about what I liked to wear. I really had to go on my own personal journey toward finding that confidence and learning that…being who you are is what makes you the most beautiful.
Looking back, is there something you wish you could tell your middle school self?
Carrie: [I’d say,] ‘remember that what makes you different is what makes you beautiful. Don’t listen to the bullies and always stay true to yourself. Let the naysayers say whatever they want. Always stay true to who you are becuase in the long that’s what’s going to make you successful!’ Staying true to my own style is really what’s allowed me to build my brand and build Carrie’s Chronicles to where it is now.
You’ve accomplished so much in the past year. What’s your biggest goal for 2019?
Carrie: To touch and empower as many people as possible! I’m working towards building my social media presecne and really empowering people through my photos. My photos are usually very colorful. I want to show people how I can spread positivity through social media.
