In case you missed it, earlier this week “Riverdale” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa took to social media revealing that this week’s episode included the final scene Luke Perry – known for his role as Fred Andrews – filmed before he tragically passed away last month. Now that the episode officially aired, the series’ resident songstress is also taking to social media sending her love to the late actor.
Last night, Ashleigh posted a video of her, as Josie McCoy, covering Amy Whinehouse’s “Back to Black” with a sweet message honoring Luke and his love for seeing her sing. Keep scrolling to check out her message and watch Ashleigh totally slay the stage with this cover:
This video is touching because it reminds me of Luke. How much he believed in me, my voice, talent. More than I did most days. Luke loved seeing me on stage and I can think of a moment we shared from each song.

According to Roberto, all upcoming “Riverdale” episodes will be dedicated to Luke’s memory!
