TB Tribune: Joshua Rush Wants to Inspire the Next Generation of Change-Makers

Our generation is changing things.
Our generation is making waves.
Our generation is creating a solid future for our world.

Say it to yourself, you’re a part of it! It’s not just the Parkland students, speaking out through unimaginable tragedy. It’s all the kids who are making change, not just in their communities but in the world!

You might know me as “Cyrus” from Andi Mack, but you might not know that I read a ton of news and I love global politics. I’m a nerd like that, so I’m using my nerdiness to make change too!

I know a lot of kids and teens hear the news, but might not get all of what’s going on, so I do the research for you. I run a series on my Instagram and on YouTube called “News in a Rush,” where I talk about a new subject every week, without leaning to either side, in a minute or less, no matter how tough it is. (And sometimes it’s really tough!) I talk about stuff like the EU, gun control, the Russia investigation and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. And there’s lots more to come.

If you’re confused about the news, I want to help explain. If something I said was interesting, ask about it in the comments (I read every comment on those posts) or search it yourself. If we all understand as much as we can, we will take over the world as strong, educated adults. Some will try to push us down, but we know the problems we need to solve, and already have ideas on how to solve them!

You can start getting involved too. Find an issue you’re passionate about, and I guarantee you that there are others who are passionate about it as well. Learn all about that issue, and talk about it with other people!

This is about to be our world. Let’s make an impact now for our future.
