Celebrating the epic success of his recent European tour, Shawn Mendes sat down for an interview to dish on everything from his whirlwind rise to fame to what it feels like to perform on stage. The 20-year-old singer and songwriter even got real about the relationship with his fans revealing that he will never turn down a selfie!
But that’s not all! Shawn even got serious for a moment when talking about staying real and true to himself saying that he never wants fans to know a version of him that isn’t real. And that’s just one of the reasons we’re so in love with him!
“The more open the world is getting, the more people are craving real. I don’t think people want to see a made-up person. [In the past] there’s been a lot of dressing up, and I still think that stuff is amazing – like I’ll wear a sleeveless top – but at the end of it, when it comes down to you, I think it’s about being authentic.”
