It’s a bittersweet moment for Kenny Ortega.
The legendary director and choreographer behind some of our favorite movies — including the “Descendants” and “High School Musical” franchises — accepted his much-deserved Hollywood Walk of Fame star yesterday with a celebratory ceremony on the famous Los Angeles boulevard. Along with actors Dove Cameron and Booboo Stewart, Kenny was accompanied by Cameron Boyce‘s sister Maya and father Victor.
He honored the late actor, who tragically passed away earlier this month but whose legacy lives on through The Cameron Boyce Foundation, with an emotional tribute during his acceptance speech:
“Cameron Boyce was so excited for me and wanted to be here, but he isn’t here today…His all-too-brief appearance in this life inspired me beyond words. And many of us here, and generations of kids and families all over this world,” he said.
