Nearly 15 years after John Green, the best-selling author who brought us “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Paper Towns,” released “Looking for Alaska,” fans can finally watch their favorite characters come to life in Hulu’s adaptation of the novel!
The series — out now on Hulu –follows Miles ‘Pudge’ Halter (played by Charlie Plummer) as he enrolls in boarding school, and soon finds himself falling in love with Alaska Young (played by Kristine Froseth, who you’ll remember as Veronica from ‘Sierra Burgess is a Loser’ and Kelly from ‘The Society’).

1. Kristine (who plays Alaska Young) was born in Norway and split her time between Norway and New Jersey growing up. She recently opened up about her unique childhood, and how she got discovered for modeling in a New Jersey mall!
2. Kristine is still close to “Sierra Burgess is a Loser” co-star Shannon Purser. She told W Magazine, “She is such a sweetheart and just 100 percent goodness. She always had my back, and I’m incredibly grateful to have gotten to work with her.”
3. Kristine said she didn’t like high school or playing the mean girl in “Sierra Burgess is a Loser.” She liked playing a cheerleader, though!
4. Charlie (who plays Pudge) comes from a theatrical family. According to this source, his dad is a film writer and producer and his mom is a theater actor. He even got his first movie role when he was just 11-years-old!
5. Charlie still gets nervous to meet famous celebrities. During a recent interview, he said that sometimes he turns down meetings, because he’s been too nervous to be in the same room as certain stars.
6. Charlie is a major Harry Styles fan! He gushed over the “Lights Up” singer while chatting with Another Man.
7. Denny Love (who plays Chip ‘The Colonel’ Martin, Pudge’s roommate) created the opening handshake with Jay Lee (who plays Takumi) from his own life. He said he used to do it with his family, so he brought it to the series. He even said that he has a handshake with most of his cast-mates.
8. And according to this source, Denny didn’t read the book until after he got the role, and actually didn’t know even know it was a book at first! But as soon as he was cast, he raced to read it and loved it even more.
9. John Green was on set the first day of filming! Denny told Bustle that it made him so nervous, he accidentally spelled ‘coffee table,’ ‘coffee tabel’ while filming a scene.
10. Jay starred in Netflix’s “American Vandal” and was in the movie “Bully.” Looks like he’s no stranger to the acting world!
11. Sofia Vassilieva (who plays Lara, Pudge’s initial love interest) starred in Eloise in the TV movies “Eloise at the Plaza” and “Eloise at Christmastime” as a kid.” It even looks like her and her Julie Andrews are still close!
12. Landry Bender (who plays the Colonel’s girlfriend, Sara) auditioned for all three girls on the show, she recently shared. Landry also starred in Disney Channel show “Best Friends Whenever” and played Rocki on “Fuller House.”
13. The cast created playlists together to get through some of the more difficult scenes. Denny said that when he hears the songs now, he thinks back to filming, he told the BUILD Series.
14. Jordan Connor (who plays Kevin and also stars in “Riverdale”) said if he wasn’t an actor, he’d want to be an astronaut. “If there’s ever a new documentary about space on Netflix, you can bet I’ve watched it at least six times,” he explained.
15. Kristine, Denny and Jay got together before filming to create a genuine friendship bond. The three of them said they did silly activities together to create the power dynamics of the on-screen friendship, they told MEAWW.
