Paxton Booth has all the “Coop & Cami Ask The World” inside info we could ever want!
The young star – who plays Ollie on the show – recently sat down to give us the full 4-1-1 on the second season. From what it’s like to work with the cast, including Ruby Rose Turner and Albert Tsai, to his favorite filming moments, Paxton spilled all the behind-the-scenes secrets!
We were already excited seeing the Wrather family back in action this fall, and now Paxton has us even more thrilled for what’s to come. Keep scrolling to get the scoop on “Coop & Cami”!
What’s one thing viewers will see in “Coop & Cami” Season 2 that they haven’t seen before?
Paxton: Season 2 has some fun surprises! You get to see Ollie grow up and show some of his musical talents. I think viewers will be impressed by his classical taste in music.
How would you describe Ollie in three words, how has he changed since the series premiere and in what ways do you relate to him?
Paxton: In my mind, I see Ollie as being curious, daring and witty. Ollie is a character that is always developing. We learn a little more about him each episode. He has definitely matured a lot since Season 1. He’s still the ‘test pilot’ for the Would You Wrather livestream, but now voices his opinion more about it. Ollie and I both have an adventurous side and aren’t afraid to try new things. We also both love our families and would do anything for them.
Is there a scene or take from Season 1 that didn’t make the final cut, but you wish had?
Paxton: I just wish some of the stunts/gags got a little more screen time. It takes days to prep and practice and a few hours to shoot, but once it airs it’s usually only a few seconds. Sometimes it’s so fast it looks like a dummy or a stunt double, but it’s actually me. I do all of my own stunts!
What’s your favorite behind-the-scenes Season 2 filming memory?
Paxton: This season I shot a scene going down a slide into a ball pit. After we finished for the day, the entire cast dove in! We all had a blast! But what was even funnier was seeing all the crew members that work so hard behind the scenes making our show, jump in and all act like kids again.
You’re one of the youngest in the cast. Can you remember one piece of advice Ruby, Dakota, Olivia or Albert gave you?
Paxton: It’s hard to pick out just one piece of advice. I’m always learning new things from everyone I work with. Not just the cast either. I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by people who have worked in this industry for longer than I’ve been alive.
If you could play any other character on “Coop & Cami,” who would you choose, and why?
Paxton: I would love to play Mr. Kramsky the drama teacher. His character is so funny and he has the best lines. I’m excited for everyone to see him come back in Season 2. His dance moves are so perfect for the character!
ICYMI: Paxton’s castmate Ruby opened up about experiencing rejection in this emotional TB Tribune essay.
