Young people can make a difference too!

Greta Thunberg was just named Time’s Person of the Year, and we couldn’t be prouder. The 16-year-old environmental activist has gained international recognition since she first striked outside the Swedish parliament with a sign that translates to “schools trike for the climate,” demanding the country’s leaders take stronger action against global warming. Since then, the inspiring teen has traveled all over the world in an effort to bring about change. “We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed,” Greta has famously said.

Alongside the Swedish activist, pioneers, artists, leaders, icons and titans — like soccer star Alex Morgan, music industry megastar Taylor Swift, congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and more — were recognized for their powerful influence in 2019.

“Wow, this is unbelievable! I share this great honour with everyone in the #FridaysForFuture movement and climate activists everywhere,” Greta wrote on Instagram.
