Everyone is always asking, “What’s your New Year’s resolution?”
Personally, I have mixed feelings about this. Sometimes I think if you want change your life, then change it now. Don’t wait for the next thing, the next year, or this or that to be able to do what you want. Just do it! Other times I look at a new year as a fresh start, a clear difference between time periods. No, this doesn’t mean you’re a whole new person in the new year, but it’s a good starting point.
I always want to be improving myself because I do need improvement — constantly! The new year is always a great time to change things up. The most important thing I want in 2020 is to have a healthy, positive mindset. I want to be happy doing whatever I’m doing and just do things! Doing things makes me forget to check my phone, focus, be passionate, get my creative juices flowing and makes me stop worrying.
I did unfortunately have lots of anxious moments, mental breakdowns and overthinking in 2019. I found it hard to be positive and remember what I love to do. In 2020 I want my year to be structured.
Another thing I learned in 2019 is that I’m a planner. Every once in a while I’ll go with the flow, but for the most part I need a schedule! I think that also falls along with my goal of getting off my phone and not spending the time I used to on Instagram or looking at what people think of me 24/7.
I want to use this time in 2020 with family, friends and the people that make smile. 2020 is going to be real and deep, but light-hearted and fun all at the same time! I just know it’s going to be an amazing year.
