What inspired Lauren Riihimaki (aka LaurDIY) to launch her debut podcast?
We recently caught up with the do-it-yourself queen (who has almost 9 million subscribers on her glitter-infused YouTube channel) during our Instagram live series Friends From Afar, and got the inside scoop on everything from hosting (and executive producing) “Craftopia” — the craft competition series of her dreams — on HBO Max, to avoiding content creator burnout for nearly a decade, and more!
Lauren also opened up about the real reason she decided to team up with her boyfriend Jeremy Lewis for “Wild ‘Til 9,” which delivers a new episode every Monday night:
“I wanted to be fully unfiltered and have some real conversations…Story-telling is something that’s a little bit harder for me on my channel, because things are so craft-based…There are so many things that I’ve learned and experienced…So many coming-of-age topics that we’re diving into that I couldn’t really do on YouTube,” she explained.
