Meet Mikaila Ulmer, the 15-year old activist, author, “Shark Tank” alum, and entrepreneur who’s not only incredibly accomplished, but is sweeter than honey!
We caught up with the Me & the Bees Lemonade founder during our Instagram Live series Friends From Afar, where she shared her secrets to successfully balancing a business with being a normal teenager, the inspiration behind her brand-new book, and everything in BEE-tween (sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves)! She also got real about the important reason why she decided to dedicate her efforts as an entrepreneur toward saving the bees.
After researching and educating herself on all things bees and how they contribute to the ecosystem, Mikaila put her fascination to good use:
“I learned that bees are really important to the food we eat, and that they’re also dying at an alarming rate… so I decided to do a lemonade stand, use my Great Granny Helen’s flaxseed recipe, dress up in a bee suit, sell my product, and donate a portion… So I can help save the bees!”
