Summer is coming!

Jenny Han, the author behind the “To All The Boys” franchise, is bringing another one of her young adult fan favorites to life! Amazon is adapting “The Summer I Turned Pretty” into an 8-episode series that will follow the story’s protagonist, Isabel “Belly” Conklin, on the summers she spends at Cousin’s Beach with her mother and older brother, and her mother’s best friend and her sons. What unfolds along the way is a multigenerational drama that finds Belly in the center of a love triangle, delves deep into the enduring power of strong female friendship, and captures the ever-evolving relationship between mothers and their children.

To celebrate the exciting (and long-awaited — seriously, readers have been begging for this one since the first book came out back in 2009!) news, Jenny took to social media to announce the coming-soon series in the best way possible…with a couple of TikToks, duh!

“The Summer I Turned Pretty is many years in the making, and I’m so excited to tell Belly’s story in 2021…For the longtime book fans, I think it will have been worth the wait. For those newly discovering the Summer series, I hope you fall in love with these characters and this place that is so dear to my heart,” she said in a statement.
