The Dolan Twins Announce New Chapter of Their YouTube Channel in an Emotional Sit-Down with Shane Dawson

The Dolan Twins are stepping back from YouTube.

The fan-favorite 19-year-old twins took to their channel with an emotional new video to announce that after five years of weekly uploads, they’re prioritizing their mental health and pulling back from the rigorous workload. Moving forward, they’ll be focusing on producing higher quality content on their own time, without the pressure of a posting schedule. Ethan and Grayson Dolan sat down with Shane Dawson (aka the Oprah Winfrey of the YouTube world) to explain how the stress of creating videos has taken a toll on their personal lives, and candidly opened up about the loss of their father for the first time online.

This is the most real and raw video we’ve ever seen from them, and we couldn’t be prouder! Before saying ‘see you later’ to their nearly 11 million subscribers, E and Gray disassembled their infamous purple-couch filming room and commemorated their journey with Tuesday-themed tattoos.

“This is something we need to do for ourselves. I’m trying not to overthink it too hard right now because I know it’s what we need…It is now time to grow, progress, and experience more of this life I have been blessed with. I honestly haven’t been this excited for the future in a really long time, and I’m feeling extremely grateful for everything that I have right now,” Grayson says.

QUIZ: Can you match the tweet to the Dolan twin who posted it?!
