You can’t blame us for loving the “You Can Blame Me” visual as much as we do!
The oh-so-sweet (and seriously creative) storyline features Jenna Raine as the leading lady in her own music video within a music video. How cool?! And for the first time, the 15-year-old singer-songwriter — who told us that the catchy bop was fans’ favorite song to sing along to during In Real Life’s For U Tour — has an on-screen love interest. Ooh la la!
Model and actor Zack Nelson sits shotgun as Jenna drives through time: first to the 1920’s, then the 1950’s, and finally to the 1970’s. But the longer they play on-camera love birds, the more they fall for one another. Too cute! Eventually, the two bring the lyrics “Take my hand, follow me // We don’t know where we’ll be by tonight, but who cares?” to life when Zack’s character takes a chance and follows Jenna’s character off set to their romantic reality.
It’s everything we could have dreamed of and more! To celebrate, we caught up with Jenna to find out what filming with a bae-worthy guy like Zack was *really* like:
“Definitely nervous! [Before meeting Zack, I was] low-key freaked out. [I thought,] who is he gonna be? He better not be awkward. But Taylor swift and Camila Cabello make romantic music videos look so easy,” she joked. “And I love this song. It’s really relatable: teenage love, the excitement of not knowing where it’s going to go.”
In case you missed it, Jenna recently gave us the inside scoop on the inspiration behind her sophomore EP!
