Spoiler alert: Johnny Orlando wasn’t *really* crying on cue!
It’s been a couple weeks since the 17-year-old singer dropped the music video for “Phobias,” and we’re still so seriously obsessed. The daydream-like visual (starring Emily Skinner) tells the story of a couple falling in and out of love as easily as we all fall in and out of sleep. IT’S E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!
“Phobias” is so emotional that at one point, Johnny is even brought to tears — or so we thought! To get the inside scoop on everything that went down on set, we caught up with the talented teen, who revealed that his saline streams were actually just eyedrops. Who knew?! You can even catch a glimpse of them in the brand-new behind-the-scenes video that he posted earlier today. Check it out:
“No, I wasn’t actually crying…just eyedrops. Nayip [the director] would have all the cameras ready and I’d be standing there, and he’d call, ‘Eyedrops!’ and I’d take it out of my back pocket and quickly put them in my eyes, throw the bottle to Darian, and then we’d start. I’d have to instantly act sad because there was so little time to get the shot,” Johnny explained to TigerBeat exclusively.
In case you missed it, Johnny also recently gave us the inside scoop on his on-camera kiss with Emily Skinner!
