Just when we thought we couldn’t love this track any more than we already did…
Louis Knight stopped by TigerBeat HQ to perform a stripped-down rendition of his latest single “Change,” off his debut album “Small Victories,” and it’ll move you beyond words. Not only did the 19-year-old pop singer-songwriter wow us with his out-of-this-world vocals and seriously-smooth keyboard skills, but he also put a lot of things in perspective with his chillingly true lyrics, overflowing with aspirational gratitude and eloquent wisdom.
The moving and melodious song, inspired by Louis’ best friend who tragically took his own life, is a wake up call to anyone in need of the reminder that we’re all lucky to live another day. Give it a listen:
“[It’s the song] I’m most proud of…I wrote it about my brother and I’s best friend, who committed suicide. I tried to write about that for about a year…but nothing felt right. And then all of the sudden…I went downstairs and sat at the piano, and I had “Change” in 30 minutes…I recently got to play it for [my friend’s mom]. She told me that he would be really proud of me, and that was really special to me.”
