Who else would die to be a fly on the wall in Why Don’t We‘s hangout session with Shawn Mendes?!
During a recent interview with radio host Zach Sang, the guys talked Daniel Seavey‘s relationship status (single!), explained why they waited nearly two years before releasing “What Am I“, gave a preview of their silly and secret shower song single, gushed over the possibility of collaborating with Ariana Grande, and reminisced about shooting their very-naked “Unbelievable” lyric video.
And the best part? While dishing on their recent “TODAY” show performance — where, for the first time ever, they each simultaneously played an instrument on stage (Daniel on cello, Zach, Corbyn and Jack on guitar, and Jonah on keyboard) — the guys revealed that it was the “If I Can’t Have You” singer, himself, who encouraged them to show off their instrumental talents. Who knew?!
After WDW met up with Shawn backstage at his show in Atlanta, they left feeling inspired to show #Limelights (and the rest of the world!) something nobody’s ever seen from them before. Here’s how it went down, according to Corbyn Besson:
“He really encouraged us; if we wanna play, then we should play. So we took that upon ourselves. But then on our end, if we wanna play then we gotta put in the work and rehearsal time, that end of it. It was super fun for us to put that together…just to play again. A couple of us just hadn’t had the opportunity, being on tour all the time, doing a show where you’re not playing instruments. Picking it back up was refreshing.”
