Yes, every member of British hottie-filled band The Vamps is a guy and yes, they sing catchy (SO. CATCHY.) tunes. So, yeah, in technical terms, it’s easy for people to classify them as a boy band. But The Vamps themselves beg to differ. They haven’t completely refused the name (unlike the boys of 5 Seconds of Summer who say they prefer to think of themselves as a “man-band”), but the lads think there’s something different that distinguishes them from other musical groups in the “boy band” genre.

“It’s very easy to label (us) a boy band, but a boy band would be typically a vocal group, so like four singers,” lead vocalist Bradley Simpson dishes. “But we’re a band.” While the boys all add to the harmonies you hear in their music, guitarist James McVey adds, “I mean, we have a lead singer, we play instruments.”
