In honor of our Summer 2018 issue (which hits newsstands today, July 3rd) and its oh-so-talented cover stars, here are five fun facts you didn’t know about pop artist Jonah Marais!
1. He originally gained a following on YouNow! Before meeting the boys (Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jack Avery and Zach Herron), Jonah was posting to YouNow, a live streaming video chat site, where he racked up a loyal following!
2. He toured with social media superstars Nash Grier and Cameron Dallas for DigiTour in 2014! Before joining WDW, Jonah was making a name for himself alongside some of the biggest social media stars of the time!
3. He was a solo artist before he was a part of WDW! Jonah released debut album, “When the Daylight’s Gone” featuring fan-favorite singles “Warpaint,” “Take You Home Tonight” and more!
4. He just had a big birthday! Jonah just turned the big 20 on June 16th!
5. He’s from a small town in Minnesota! Jonah is from Stillwater, Minnesota and he likes to root for the Minnesota Timberwolves!
6. He has three siblings! Jonah grew up with his sisters Esther and Svea and brother Zebulon!
7. Before making it big with music, he used to play baseball! Jonah gifted everyone with this sweet #TBT of his baseball days!
8. He and bandmate Corbyn Besson try to get each other to laugh at their meet and greets! Jonah admitted on his Instagram that he and Corbyn are always trying to make the other crack up for the photos!
9. An original song that means a lot to him is “Never Know”! When we met up with Jonah on the “Invitation Tour,” he revealed that the song hits home for him because “it describes going after your dream, whatever that may be.”
10. He loves his fans SO much! One look at Jonah’s Instagram and it’s clear that he loves and appreciates his fans more than anything. He is constantly shouting them out, thanking them and thinking about them- aww!
