“Why don’t we make a band?” And the rest is history!
It’s no secret that the boys of Why Don’t We — Jack Avery, Daniel Seavey, Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson and Zach Herron — all toured and recorded as solo artists before officially joining forces and forming a band back in September of 2016. But at what point did they decide to officially team up? Now we know!
In a recent interview with radio host Zach Sang, the “8 Letters” singers shared the story behind the epic moment that they realized they were a five-way match made in heaven:
“We were friends before the group…At one point, a couple of years ago, we all had a week off, and we just [coordinated] to hang out…At the time we were just planning to grow each other’s followings and maybe jam out a little bit but it wasn’t to make a band…we played more FIFA than sing…but when we did sing together it was like, ‘okay, there’s something here,'” Jonah explained.
