Obviously, we’re looking forward to fun songs, awesome dancing and a crush-worthy Ross Lynch when we watch the premiere of Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie tomorrow night (8 PT/ET), but that’s not all. We’re also looking forward to the super cute and fabulous outfits Ross and his costars (especially leading lady Maia Mitchell), are going to be wearing!
We just interviewed celeb stylist Daniel Musto, who put together Maia’s outfits for a TBM-inspired photoshoot, and he gave us the scoop on what Maia likes about fashion and tips on how YOU can achieve the signature retro looks featured in Teen Beach Movie.
BOP&TB: Tell us more about this photo shoot you did with Maia!
Daniel Musto: We wanted to show how retro clothes inspired by Teen Beach Movie will make a stamp on the fashion world! And how Tiger Beat and BOP readers can wear these looks, too.

BOP &TB:Â Tell us… how can readers get a retro, 60’s-inspired, mod look on a budget?
Daniel Musto: Find some spray paint, and spray paint either your sneakers or your loafers in all one bold color! That’s a quick way to get the mod look. You could also just grab some socks with lace detailing on top, and if you wear those with a pair of sneakers and some jean shorts and a t-shirt, that makes it look mod.
BOP&TB:Â Do you think retro fashion can work for all body types?
Daniel Musto: I do. I think it just depends on what colors you are choosing. If you have curves, you can use darker colors on your body and accessorize with bright colors. If you’re slimmer, you can wear bright bold colors everywhere. For shorter people, dark colors on the bottom and bright colors on top always make you look taller.

BOP&TB: What as Maia like to work with?
Daniel Musto:Â She was a doll. She was so sweet. She was so excited to be a part of this project. She gets along with everybody, and she is such a team player.
BOP&TB: What’s Maia’s personal style like?
Daniel Musto:Â Super casual. You can tell that she puts a lot of thought into each item she wears, but she likes to be comfortable. As all actors do, they want to show up to set in something very comfortable, so when they leave and take off the heels and makeup, they are just as comfortable on the way out.
